Easy Shawlette Free Crochet Pattern

Today I’m thrilled to introduce an easy shawlette free crochet pattern for you, The Cirra Shawlette!

The Cirra Shawlette crochet pattern by Teal and Finch.

This textured shawlette is the perfect layering piece for cooler months. I designed this shawlette in late winter when clouds were grey and I was dreaming of spring sunshine. So the color transitions from shades of grey to bright yellow are sort of symbolic for me.

I really enjoyed experimenting with a color scheme that had some meaning. Maybe you could crochet this in colors that have meaning for yourself or someone you want to gift it to…just an idea!

Worked with simple stitches and an easy to remember pattern, this project is great for crocheters of all levels. All you need to know is half double crochet and slip stitch. It’s amazing that when you put those two stitches together you get something that looks completely different!

I used 3 balls of Sugar Bush yarn Bold. It’s a merino yarn that is very squishy and easy to work with. I truly loved working with this yarn. For this Easy Shawlette Free Crochet Pattern I used three balls and I have three left in different colors. I can’t wait to come up with a pattern for those as well.

This shawlette makes a great gift because it is relatively small compared with other shawls. I and some of my testers made it in just a few days. If you’re an experienced crocheter, this could be a quick project for a gift or even a craft fair.

Speaking of testers, they did an amazing job! I love seeing everyone’s interpretation of the pattern with the colors they chose and how they styled it. I bought a shawl pin to wear with mine, but you could also use a button or wear it as a scarf.

I loved hearing what testers had to say about the pattern:
“I love the texture.”
“Simple to follow and the pattern looks very modern compared to other shawl patterns.”
“It was very easy to read and worked up quickly. The texture and colorwork are beautiful.”

Cirra shawlette crochet pattern is a great gift idea for all levels.

I can’t describe how much it means to me when someone else enjoys my patterns. I feel that I share a bit of myself with each pattern and to know that someone else is enjoying it in their own way makes me feel like a connection has been made. Crafts like crochet bring people together in such a unique way.

Ok, now on with the pattern!

Pattern Notes

  • Ch 1 at the beginning of a row does not count in stitch count.
  • Beginning with row 2, keep a stitch marker in the center stitch of each row. For odd rows, this is the bolded stitch. For even rows, simply move marker up to the center stitch as you work the row.
  • When changing colors, work until you pull through the last st on the row before you want to change colors. Lay new yarn color over hook and pull through the last stitch of the row. Cut previous color and you are ready to work new color in next row.
